Dear Six Rivers Montessori Families,

It begins with community and it is community that brought us another lovely semester at Six Rivers Montessori. So many hands and hearts came together the past few months for field trips, classroom and office help, in-class activities with the children, playtime volunteering, gardening, grounds maintenance, community wellness, fundraising, governance, and so much more big and small. It’s pretty awesome when you reflect on it all.

May you all settle in for a nice holiday season and New Year!

1. JUNIOR HIGH COMMITTEE MEETING

The Junior High Committee will be meeting on Tuesday, January 7th at 5PM at the school. Families are encouraged to join the committee and be part of the process of co-creating the program! Contact Teresa with any questions.

2. SRM COMMUNITY GOOGLE GROUP

All SRM community members are invited to join the new SRM Community google group. It is a not open to the public and provides a private, simple, organized electronic way to connect with others in our school community. You will be sent an invitation to join the google group from Nicole Nada in early January.

3. SIX RIVERS HOODIES

Sweatshirts. If you didn’t have a chance to pick up, try on or buy an SRM zip hoodie, don’t worry! It’s not too late! They will still be available over the break. Contact Mica to swing by and get yours. We still have most sizes available and will take requests for future orders if the size(s) you need run(s) out. Happy Holidays and have a great break!

4. ONGOING ANNOUNCEMENTS

End Of The Year Financial Contribution

At last year’s potluck (tuition) meeting a number of individuals mentioned making a one-time donation at some point during the school year. Now is a great time of year to do that! We are a non-profit organization and your donations can be tax deductible. Expenditures this fall for classroom resources (where we value quality and never skimp on our children) were a lot higher than budgeted. Your extra contribution will go directly to offset the costs of the new furniture, the new pin map box/supplies and more. Checks can be written out to the school, just as with tuition, and brought to me or mailed in. Thank you for your ongoing financial support to make our school and all that it is possible.

Education Quote of the week:
“Upon the subject of education, not presuming to dictate any plan or system respecting it, I can only say that I view it as the most important subject which we as a people can be engaged in.” -Abraham Lincoln
