Newsletter 1/16/14

Dear Six Rivers Montessori Families,

Hope all are enjoying good ol’ sunny Humboldt County. It’s certainly making for some nice playtime experiences and our upper elementary boys couldn’t have had a nicer winter afternoon for their ropes course today.

We are currently planning a slew of additional field trips for the Winter/Spring and will be announcing those as we get details finalized. There will be more programs at Patrick’s Point and we are planning trips focused around waterways and our usage of water in Humboldt – an even more relevant topic with our current drought conditions.

We have a short newsletter today:

*Remember, there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, 1/20 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We took a moment in the classroom yesterday, on his actual birthday, to tell his story and remember his message.

*The Fundraising Committee would like to say thank you to the school community for making beautiful crafts, buying and selling the holiday baskets and supporting our school. We made $1,490! 🙂

Education Quote of the week:

“Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it.”
